Why Tesla Certified Matters Here
San Francisco’s salt air, fog, and dense building stock make installation quality consequential. A Tesla Certified Installer commissions the unit through Tesla Pros, which logs firmware version, breaker configuration, and DPM CT placement. That commissioning record stays on file with Tesla for the life of the unit and protects your 4-year residential hardware warranty.

Permits & Inspections in San Francisco
Every Richmond District EV charger install requires a San Francisco Department of Building Inspection (SF DBI) electrical permit. Under SB 1236, residential EV charger permits in California get expedited review (typically 1–3 business days online). The permit is included in our standard install price. We file the permit on your behalf, schedule the inspection, and meet the SF DBI inspector at your property. You don’t deal with the permit office.

Rebates for Richmond District Residents
PG&E Residential EV Charging Rebate: up to 50% of the purchase price of one approved charger. Income-qualified households may qualify for Rebate Plus: up to $2,000 for a charger and installation, or up to $5,000 with a panel upgrade (pre-approval required). The federal 30C tax credit for home chargers ended June 30, 2026.
San Francisco residents receive electricity from CleanPowerSF (the city’s CCA) by default; PG&E continues to deliver the power. CleanPowerSF does not offer a single-family home charger rebate, and CleanPowerSF customers are eligible for PG&E’s residential charger rebate. CleanPowerSF’s EV Charge SF program (up to $120,000 per project) is for multifamily buildings (5+ units) and commercial properties only; individual condo units are not eligible on their own. PG&E’s EV2-A time-of-use rate plan can lower charging costs; that is a rate plan, not a rebate.
